well I've never been terribly specialized with anything. Honestly speaking, I've never been a hands on person, so this rifle has been a learning opportunity for me, and has given me the interest to learn this sorta hands on stuff outside of the. Hell, I'll step up and point myself out on this one, I take no shame in admitting I'm inexperienced in this field. RC guys use it for mounting tires, that stuff is awesome because it can handle the shock loads we our stuff through. If you have a real RC Hobby shop near you they will carry a CA that actually has rubber in it. The stuff from Dollar Tree is also pretty good. There are two CA's I really like, For a thicker version I use Zap a Gap and when I want it to wick under I use the stuff in the black tubes from Wally World. JB weld is a good choice, it is actually an epoxy. Cheap epoxy also cures to be pretty brittle. A good CA will actually give you a better bond than cheap epoxy. Oh, stuff like this needs to be done with a very good epoxy or CA. 25" carbon could be shaped on the underside to match the barrel so it was mounted perfectly. Personally if I were doing this mod I would mount a piece of carbon stock to the outside of the barrel and use a 4-40 or 6-32 nylon screw. It needs to be a fine thread so the adjustments can be very fine. This whole thing should be done with no bigger than a 6-32 screw. The bolt that is used should be a set screw or a small nylon screw.

The outer barrel needs to be scuffed up a bit so the adhesive will bond well. The nut that is attached to the outside the barrel system should have a concave surface. It should be drilled on a drill press so you know it is right where it should be. My point is don't hesitate to contact one of the guys on here whom you know works on or builds guns and see if they can help.įor example: Something like a TDC mod. I honestly feel it was really cool he tried the mod and it did indeed work. Please understand I am not chastising this person at all. I did manage to clean up the mod they did and made it more solid and more functional. However once you drill a hole in a barrel, mill something, grind something etc, there is no going back. Taking the initiative to do something on your own is cool. I am not going to mention who's rifle I worked on because they tried a basic DIY mod and they did indeed do it so it worked but it wasn't pretty. Most of use work pretty cheap as well because we enjoy helping the community and we enjoy this kind of stuff. Now what I really want to mention: There are are number of us on here who have the tools and skills to do some pretty cool stuff. I mean there is no left or right curve, this thing is shooting. I finished up some custom work on a BAR over the weekend.
